    General Tuition Fee Information

Kindergarten – High School: Tuition and fees for kindergarten to high school are to be paid in U.S. Dollars by wire transfer, bank check or U.S. cash deposited into the school account.

Preschool: Tuition and fees for Pre-Kindergarten students may be paid in either U.S. Dollars or Gambian Dalasi at the current rate into the school account.

Tuition may be paid for the full year or by trimesters. Tuition for a given trimester is due in full prior to attendance for that term. No refunds are made in case of early departure in any trimester. Refund of tuition will be made if the tuition was prepaid for any term in which the student does not enroll (except in the case of suspension or dismissal).

-Students enrolling in a trimester with less than 25 days remaining will be charged tuition on a prorated basis.

-Refunds or a reduction in fees will not apply if a student is absent, temporarily suspended or dismissed from school.

-Invoices are sent out at least four weeks prior to the due date. Trimester due dates are stated on the invoice.

A late payment fee of 5% will be applied to payments made after the start of the trimester. Late tuition payment arrangements must be made in writing and submitted to the Director for approval prior to the due date to avoid a late payment fee. A student is subject to removal from classes and transcripts will not be released if a tuition or fee payment is in arrears more than thirty (30) calendar days in a new trimester. Only students with a zero balance will be allowed to register for the following year.

    Application Fee for New Students

A non-refundable application fee of $200 is charged for new students applying to the Banjul American Embassy School.

    Registration Fee for Returning Students

A non-refundable registration fee is charged annually for returning students.

    School Development Fee

The School Development Fee is used for capital improvements at the school and may also be used for funding the building of a new school facility. It’s a one-time only non-refundable fee of $4,100 for each new student entering kindergarten to high school. PK1 and PK2 students pay $1,300 each year (one-third of the total amount) and upon entering kindergarten the balance of the School Development Fee is due ($1,500).

    Annual Student Activity Fee

A Student Activity Fee of $300 from Kindergarten to High School will be included as an annual payment to cover the cost of field trips, class expenses, the yearbook, movie nights, swimming, after school activity expenses, PE shirts and other possible student activity items.

    Family Discount Plan

A reduced payment schedule for families with more than one child (same mother and father) enrolled at the Banjul American Embassy School is available for students in Kindergarten to high school who are not receiving any other reduction in their tuition. This applies to tuition only, not to other school fees.

-The oldest child pays full tuition

-The second child - 10% reduction of the tuition

-The third and subsequent children - 20% reduction of the tuition

    ELL – English Language Learners

The ELL fee of $700 per trimester applies to students who need additional language instruction from grades 1-9. ELL services are not provided to students in Pre-K or Kindergarten. Students will be assessed using the WIDA assessment tool. Students are assessed every trimester.

The responsibility for tuition payments rests with the parents, not with their employer.
